There are many watershed groups within the state of Pennsylvania. While we all share a common concern for the health and welfare of our particular watershed community, because the sources of air, water, and land threats tend to vary geographically, so will some of our prevention and intervention goals. However, the one commonality we all share is commitment to do whatever needs to be done to correct and preserve ecological diversity, mitigate habitat impact, and protect vulnerable species. Critical to this end is attracting members willing to volunteer time, educate the public, and seek funding to sustain organizational goals and activities, and maximize project outcomes.
The Buffalo Creek Watershed is a member of the Washington County Watershed Alliance (WCWA). The WCWA is a tax-exempt county-wide organization that serves as the fiscal agent for grants and coordinates the county-wide efforts of its member watershed associations.
