About the Buffalo Creek Watershed Association
The Buffalo Creek Watershed Association (BCWA) is a citizen-based, non-profit, all-volunteer organization. Formed in 2000, it is dedicated to preservation of the natural resources of the watershed, promotion of responsible conservation practices, and promotion of outdoor wildlife-related recreation and education opportunities. Its active membership consists of a diverse cross-section of citizens with background representation in business, education, healthcare, agriculture, and industry. To enhance its effectiveness, the BCWA works cooperatively and collaboratively with a variety of other conservation-based organizations such as but not limited to the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, the Pennsylvania Game Commission, Washington County Watershed Alliance, and the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy.
To preserve the ecological diversity; natural resources; and, wildlife, plant and floral habitat within the Buffalo Creek Watershed for the current and future health and economic benefit of all.
Establish the Buffalo Creek Watershed Association as a model organization in sustaining its natural resoures and enhancing the quality of life for its residents of all ages, physical ability, and economic circumstances through the promotion of outdoor/wildlife recreational opportunities.
